Don't worry, be happy?
A recent survey by the NUS business school found that Singaporeans who have Uni Degrees or earn 5k or more a mth are the Happiest. Yet they are dissatisfied with their lot and enjoy life the least, compared with those who make less.
Their dissatisfaction could stem from their higher unfulfilled expectiations. But if their discontent is not crippling, it may be what would drive them to achieve more. It is said that contentment form complacency. When complacent, one tends to spiral downwards. There can be no happiness there.
Where they say they don't enjoy life enough, many higher-earning Singaporeans probably relate "enjoyment" to fine food, fancy cars and luxurious homes. But there is only so much one can enjoy of these things. One enjoys life fully only when one is purposefully engaged, and is passionate about the things one does. Happiness comes as a fleeting-by-product. Recognise that and one can be a more fulfilled Person. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

<What Will Matterr>
--------------
Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the thingd you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin colour will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought but what you built,
not what you got but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success but your significance.
What will ,atter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empower or encourafed others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew,
but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories but the memoriesof those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

[IT’s Not Easy]
Let's be honest. Ethics is not for wimps. It's not easy being a good person.
It's not easy to be honest when it might be costly, to play fair when others cheat or to keep inconvenient promises.
It's not easy to stand up for our beliefs and still respect differing viewpoints.
It's not easy to control powerful impulses, to be accountable for our attitudes and actions, to tackle unpleasant tasks or to sacrifice the now for later.
It's not easy easy to bear criticism and learn from it without getting angry, to take advice or to admit error.
It's not easy to really feel genuine remorse and apologise sincerely, or to accept an apology graciously and truly forgive.
It's not easy to stop feeling like a victim, to resist cynicism and to make the best of every situation
It's not easy to be consistently kind, to think of others first, to judge generously, to give the benefit of doubt.
It's not easy to be grateful or to give without concern for reward or gratitude.
It's not easy to fail and still keep trying, to learn from failure, to risk failing again, to start over, to lose with grace to be glad for the success of another.
It's not easy to avoid excuses and rationalisations or to resist temptations.
No, being a person of character is not easy.
That's why its such a lofty goal and an admirable achievement.
