There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days. All the thingd you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will pass to someone else. Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed. Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear. So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire. It's not easy to be grateful or to give without concern for reward or gratitude. It's not easy to fail and still keep trying, to learn from failure, to risk failing again, to start over, to lose with grace to be glad for the success of another. It's not easy to avoid excuses and rationalisations or to resist temptations. No, being a person of character is not easy.
