I was baking Brownie today for my class outing: This was the recipe i used: Chocolate Brownie Ingredients: 3/4 cup cocoa powder 3/4 cup shortening 2 ¼ cups white sugar 4 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 ¼ cups flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup walnuts or pecans (chopped) use almond nut Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9×13” baking pan with aluminum foil and grease it. Step 2: In a sauce pan melt shortening and then stir in cocoa powder (use MILO+1/8 baking powder). Remove pan from heat. Pour the mixture into a large mixing bowl. Mix in sugar and vanilla extract. Mix in eggs one at a time. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold in chopped walnuts or pecans. Pour mixture into the baking dish and spread out evenly. Step 3: Bake for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. (Makes about 14-28 brownies depending on the size you cut them) I didn't have cocoa powder, hence i decided to substitute it with milo. I also did not have shortening( Pure fat in powder form) so i decided to substitute this with canola oil...So the result when i tried to stir them together: FAILED. The milo was burnt!! LOLs i thought using Canola oil (+omega 3) could substitute Shortening. Seems like it was a bad mistake and i wasted so much food. Hence i made my way to punggol plaza to buy cocoa powder and shortening if possible. Poon huat was too far and i'm Lazy hahas.
Well in the end I got the expensive cocoa powder and butter instead of shortening(huge packaging and expensive).
This time it went right:

However, i think the temperature is wrong for the recipe. I think the 350 degrees should be in Faraheint....my oven's max temperature is only up till 225 degrees anyways. I set the temperature to the max and the brownie became too HARD...waaa waste of effort.
This meant that i have to bake tomorrow night! (after my Leo club event)
Well, i think the baking session wasn't that bad since its my first time baking Brownie which looks really like it other than the taste. Going to lower the temperature to 170 degrees tomorrow and add in chocolate chips!! hahaahas make it more chocolaty and fattening! Well no matter what will tomorrow's result be i will just bring it for the outing LOLS.
I going to SKATE muahahaha. It will be my first time skating lols so i expect to see myself falling over and over again but getting right back up with each fall! I think i wont do that bad since it is a lil' like ice-skating.
HAPPY FATHER's DAY!!! I told this to my father in the morning and he was like "hur hur hur" well he's like this. lols.
Later will be going out for dinner with my grandpa and other relatives.
.mi....Signing off...adios.....
"I have never looked upon ease and happiness as ends in themselves-such an ethical basis i call the ideal of the pigsty...the ideals which have guided my way, and time after time have given me the energy to face life, have been Kindness, Beauty and Truth." ----Einstein.
Back from the dinner! Well...not sure why that restaurant is so crowded. The food there could be found just about in every coffee shop.
Cousin and i had to take bus there cause my father's car was too pack to accommodate us. He actually did not want to go bus grandpa (forced) him to go hahas. When we reach there, i got to see pictures of another cousin who went to Germany for his NS!! Mi want to go there too hahas its so beautiful and different from here!
Just discovered a singer name Jewel. Like some of her songs...nice voice bahx "...there is no giving in, there is no given up on love ... ... if you will, i will, try to let it show..."
A forced faithfulness is a bitter fruit for all concerned. ---ibid ( translated as I am a lone wolf Or I am a horse for a single harness) ( Einstein )
Happy father's day to Einstein too hahas

<What Will Matterr>
--------------
Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the thingd you collected, whether treasured or forgotten will pass to someone else.
Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
So too, your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin colour will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?
What will matter is not what you bought but what you built,
not what you got but what you gave.
What will matter is not your success but your significance.
What will ,atter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage or sacrifice that enriched, empower or encourafed others to emulate your example.
What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew,
but how many will feel a lasting loss when you're gone.
What will matter is not your memories but the memoriesof those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.
Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident.
It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

[IT’s Not Easy]
Let's be honest. Ethics is not for wimps. It's not easy being a good person.
It's not easy to be honest when it might be costly, to play fair when others cheat or to keep inconvenient promises.
It's not easy to stand up for our beliefs and still respect differing viewpoints.
It's not easy to control powerful impulses, to be accountable for our attitudes and actions, to tackle unpleasant tasks or to sacrifice the now for later.
It's not easy easy to bear criticism and learn from it without getting angry, to take advice or to admit error.
It's not easy to really feel genuine remorse and apologise sincerely, or to accept an apology graciously and truly forgive.
It's not easy to stop feeling like a victim, to resist cynicism and to make the best of every situation
It's not easy to be consistently kind, to think of others first, to judge generously, to give the benefit of doubt.
It's not easy to be grateful or to give without concern for reward or gratitude.
It's not easy to fail and still keep trying, to learn from failure, to risk failing again, to start over, to lose with grace to be glad for the success of another.
It's not easy to avoid excuses and rationalisations or to resist temptations.
No, being a person of character is not easy.
That's why its such a lofty goal and an admirable achievement.
